Handwriting reading - analysis, comparison and meaning of individual writing

Handwriting reading - analysis, comparison and meaning of individual writing / symptoms
Analysis of the manuscript
Reading the manuscript has the reputation of pointing somewhere between coffee grounds and moving to daily horoscopes, being esoteric rather than scientific. It is true that the corresponding doctrine, graphology, is not a recognized science.

False, on the other hand, is the impression that the analysis of manual writings is esoteric belief in irrationality. In that sense, it has nothing to do with lead casting or homeopathy: writing is an activity of our second nature, the culture we learn individually. Our handwriting is not only individual, but shaped by our experiences and our personality. This can be seen, at least in outline, in the respective font.

graphology

The term graphology coined Abbe Jean Hippolyte Michon (1806-1881). He thus linked the Greek words for writing and teaching, so it is the doctrine of writing. Even the German polymath Alexander von Humboldt recognized a connection between the individual personality and the manuscript.

How does a graphologist work??

Graphologists use different approaches and use different methods to analyze the font. First you look at the overall picture of a font and then check certain characteristics such as the size of the letters, the distance to the page margin, the distance between the words, and create a mosaic about the personality of the writer.

For this he needs to know some external circumstances such as the age, gender or occupation of the writer and influences such as intoxicating substances, diseases or handicaps.

The order of words

The experts examine the spatial image, the form and the movement image of a font. The middle position of this designates the boundaries without upper and lower lengths. A graphological approach shows the feelings of the writer. The upper part, however, shows goals, desires and ideals. The lower part refers to material dependencies and everyday life, as well as the instincts. Whether this is a vulgar transmission of Freud's model of superego-ego and it is to be found there.

The connections

Strongly connected is a script in which five or more letters are consecutively connected without spaces, three to five are considered medium and less than three are unconnected. A closely connected typeface refers to someone who is logically linked, and at the same time to someone who adheres closely to regulations and does not concede much individual freedom. Those who think extremely systematically should divide their words into syllables.

By contrast, an unconnected scripture points to a person who leaves his thoughts alone and does not logically line them up, or positively, to a creative mind that overflows with ideas.

Word beginnings and word ends

Now the word beginnings and word endings are added. The emphasis of the beginning should point to the self-image, the emphasis of the end, however, the relationship to the environment show. An over-emphasized beginning, for example by particularly large letters at the beginning of sentence and with individual nouns, should point to vanity, lowercase capital letters at the beginning of words but to restraint before the own person.

If, for example, letters at the beginning of a sentence are written particularly large, this indicates vanity. (Image: Andreas Gruhl / fotolia.com)

In doing so, graphologists pay particular attention to how these beginnings in scripture differ from the standard conveyed at school, provided that the writer has learned this. For example, capital letters beginning below (N, A, K, etc.) are meant to imply an act of gut feeling, while a beginning in the middle implies indecision.

An overly marked end of the word, on the other hand, should be a hallmark of ambition, of aggressiveness and better-knowingness. Those who underestimate the end of the word, on the other hand, should reveal themselves as human beings, for whom the purely factual consideration of an object counts, but who may also have problems to represent their own opinion. Anyone who inserts unnecessary long strokes in the punctuation now shows that he wants to keep his distance to other people.

If these final strokes bend down, then this points to a lack of stability, but they pull themselves steeply upwards, lets assume a frivolous people.

signatures

The first insight into the interpretation of word ends and word beginnings, letter connections and middle position already shows that it is a highly interpretive terrain, which not least includes psychological knowledge and sensitivity for the opposite. Again, many variables raise questions and it seems problematic to design a fixed picture, even if the interpreter has adopted the interpretive scheme.

The signature of a person is clearer, because this is the expression of one's own identity with the means of writing - in it, a person shows what he wants to be. Here, not only the shape, size or the distance of the letters are decisive, but also the return of the same.

A person whose signature is always the same in all essential points points to the fact that this person is largely "always himself", that is to say he is at peace with himself. His signature belongs to him, he does not want to demonstrate anything with him that he is not and shows himself the way he is.

Public presentation

A signature is our presentation in public, anyone can, everyone should see it - and it must be visible on documents. Roughly speaking, our first name stands for our private, the family name for our official identity. Consequently, a small-written first name should stand for the fact that we are reluctant to expose ourselves in public or that we prefer to keep the childish part of ourselves to ourselves. Such a person should be characterized by a strong sense of duty and at the same time strictly separate their free time and work.

A first name, which the person concerned always writes larger than the surname, points to a strong emphasis on the child's self and also on the individual personality: I am Dieter and then Dieter Müller.

Illegible signatures should stand for someone who thinks (too?) Fast, but very legible signatures for someone who is open and honest. If the letters are clearly recognizable, this should also point to someone who is uncomplicated in social interaction, and who wants to express himself clearly for others in order to avoid misunderstandings.

If somebody writes the capital letters especially in the first name, then this shows a pronounced self-confidence, in general, large and curved letters stand for self-confidence and extraversion.

Loops in the signature demonstrate determination, does someone underline his signature, then he emphasizes that he (too?) Takes importance.

If someone omits the point above the I, then he demonstrates that details do not interest him.

A swirl to the left suggests restraint, a swirl to the right a man whom he drives "forward", which can be progressive but also erratic. However, if the letters do not tilt at all, but are arranged like trees in a monoculture, this indicates a person for whom rationality decides. A jagged signature looks aggressive, one with a clear endpoint shows: I make the decisions.

Upward-leading signatures characterize future thinkers, people who are falling down and who are afraid of change.

Whoever spells out his full name, signals security about himself, who writes the first and last name in different lines, suggests that he is in contradictions and has not found his middle.

Anyone who omits or abbreviates the first name could betray that there are events in his past that he wants to repress, who only writes his initials could even show that he carries a strong sense of guilt with him.

When I capitalize my name, I show that I want to be taken seriously, I write it, I probably want to go undetected.

It changes a signature over the course of life, and these changes are related to the change of man.

The simpler, the more self-confident

When we try signatures, we often think that a particularly conspicuous variant would suggest particular self-assurance. But the graphologists agree: Self-confident people usually use simple but clear signatures.

shrouded

If someone includes their name with lines, that's a sign of dependency. Such people are allegedly internally tied to their mother even in advanced age, are afraid of independence and hide. They enclose their signature in a protective envelope that corresponds to the mother's care for the child.

Signatures also appear dramatic in which man passes his own name. Such people could unconsciously build a protection against their parents; they are afraid to get hurt. Their lives are subject to "self-imposed" constraints, and they strive for perfection to become unassailable - because they are deeply hurt.

Although illegible names can only be dragged out of sloppiness, this scrawl can also be a sign of timidity to stand the way you are. Behind this is the feeling of inferiority in this case.

Effect on others

But it's not that easy with the signatures. A human not only expresses his "unconscious", but the signatures also have an effect on other people. This in turn means that they can be manipulated, they can mark a status and also a territory - like a dog peeing on a tree.

Graphologists advise bosses and managers to always write their names large and clear to show that I'm the master of the house. A signature is like a hand print, and its style is understood by employees, subordinates, business partners and colleagues as well.

And this can be learned: Who, for example, a long first name and surname clean out, thus shows that he appreciates the addressee - he makes an effort. On the other hand, whoever leaves only the initials of his surname in a personal letter, whether from a school management to parents or from an authority to a customer, suggests that it is a mere compulsory exercise and he is not interested in the content of the letter.

Who capitalizes the initial letters and the words at the end in length, takes up space and thus shows its importance. Anyone who is connected, writes to the right and writes his signature fluently shows the recipients: I feel like writing. Who writes small and connected, shows that he is an emotional person.

The I-point and the T-line

The vernacular says: This is the icing on the cake. I mean the last detail that completes a project, rounds off a story or makes a dish tasty. Without this "icing on the cake" the shell feeling "something is missing".

If you take the point high and swing it upwards, you are an optimist with graphologists; whoever presents the icing on the cake of I does not really care about objectivity.

Who puts the point to the right of the I, thus demonstrating that he is hasty, left of it suggests inhibitions.

Those who use their I points as strokes may have worries that express themselves in aggression; Who points the dots barely legible, may be shy, who likes to put himself in the limelight, which tends to oversized Schweineschwänzchen.

Even with the T-bar much can be demonstrated. A very high T-bar stands for the will to exercise power over others, especially when they are heavily pressed into the paper and jagged - a low set, however, indicates little urge to rule over others. If the line knots, it shows a strong self-will, it pulls out to the right and even towers over the whole word, it should represent a dreamer, but also a visionary.

Round and angular

Anyone who writes the letters smoothly and softly faces graphologists with considerate behavior and emotionality - a person who seeks to live in peace with his fellow human beings. However, a very soft script also shows a lack of willpower, and such people are so diplomatic that they can easily be controlled by others.

However, the more angular it is, the more the writer, according to the experts, tries to fight his will. Resistance does not slow him down, but spurs him on. But the expressed will to fight can also be an inner struggle, the jigsaw writing a signal, not even to consider your own feelings.

uniformity

People who are unstable in their moods and / or exceptionally emotional, are characterized by an irregular font. If they are under pressure, what they write seems pressed, they feel relaxed, then the letters become more expansive. The more self-control a person has, the more similar his writing looks.

Mental condition and external circumstances

However, manuscripts also change according to the daily rhythm and occasion. We have a "typeface" and an "official font". So we pay less attention to the entry in the calendar than with public concerns. This is clear in people who write little when they write public texts (for example, to teachers): Your targeted "beautiful writing" shows little individual handwriting, but is how "you should write".

Learn handwriting

The art of reading a manuscript not only means identifying features of the personality in intervals, squiggles and connections, it also makes it possible to distinguish a skilled scribe from a dilettante. Many people have not really developed their own script because writing for them is like painting by numbers.

With psychological over-interpretations, a graphologist should therefore hold back as far as possible. A difficult to read, a bad handwriting does not necessarily indicate fears or weaknesses in character, but first of all a cramped attitude of the hand when writing - so that a person has never trained writing professionally.

The first advice to a person with such cramped writing is: Write slower and take breaks, then the typeface relaxes already. In between you keep moving your fingers over and over, drumming with them, for example, on the tabletop, or pretending to be a cat with their claws outstretched.

To improve manual writing, it makes sense to ask a movement therapist for advice.

distances

Spaces between words and letters can say a lot: A person who pushes the words close to each other could be afraid to be alone in other life. But if you leave large gaps between the words, you are probably someone who loves his freedom and independence and likes to be alone with his thoughts.

If you leave a large gap on the left margin, you may be attached to your past, but if you leave the broad margin on the right, you are looking into the future. And someone who fills the whole page? Such a person probably has a lot of thoughts in his head and does not know how to implement them all.

The single letters

We can write in German letters in different ways and develop our own style, which in turn allows us to draw conclusions about humans.

Wide loops at the small e, for example, indicate an open character, narrow loops on a closed, a round small s indicates harmony, a jagged on aggressiveness and ambition.

In general, people who prefer curved letters as imaginative and associative, writers with tips and edges are considered aggressive with intelligent calculus.

The pressure

People who press hard when writing, are considered methodical and serious, who, however, let his script scurry there, has a reputation as compassionate as to be sensitive. Please also note the circumstances: If you have an almost empty pen, you have to press hard to bring any color on the paper.

Differences in writing

Doodles in an otherwise legible typeface? Strong right-hand twist of the letters opposite sections in which they tower up like towers?

What would Sherlock Holmes say about that? The writer seems to associate with aspects of this section feelings that trigger another scripture. Or he had a spontaneous idea. Now it's time to look at the different sections and examine what they are.

Garlands, nooks and arcades

Garland writers often write an n as an u, they have a reputation for especially seeking contact with other people. The angle pen, however, marks m, n or z in brute zigzag. He is considered determined and bossy. Thread recorders in turn let m, n or u leak out in threads. They are considered chameleons.

What can be read on a manuscript?

A handwriting viewed from the outside only allows rough conclusions to be drawn to the writer. For example, a graphologist can see if this human being is extroverted or introverted, is subject to fluctuating moods, is in the foreground or holds back. At the latest in the question of why humans behave this way, manual writing alone hardly says anything.

However, special talents can not be filtered out by handwriting, and there is only something to say about a person's development when we examine how it has changed over time.

In order to explore other people's handwriting, one should be able to think analytically, be patient and have an eye for small details. The openness to constantly question your own results is indispensable. (Dr. Utz Anhalt)
