Modern implant restoration for a perfect smile
Diseases or accidents can lead to tooth loss. This creates unsightly gaps with which many sufferers feel very uncomfortable. In addition, the gap in the dentition often also causes problems when eating, talking or laughing, so that there is a desire for a fast, stable and aesthetic care for those affected. So far, the manufacture and customization of tailor-made dentures has been a time-consuming process.

"Today, however, modern methods allow gaps to be closed individually within a single treatment. According to the 'teeth in an hour' concept, patients can relieve the affected area immediately after the procedure, "says Dr. Mirela-Oana Nilius, Specialist in Dental Aesthetics, Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics from the practice clinic Nilius in Dortmund. How exactly the individual treatment steps look, explains the expert in the following.

Tailored planning
First, an inventory of the jaw situation by the dentist takes place. Because the condition of the bone is an important prerequisite for the stable support as well as the complete healing of the artificial root. If a toothless body remains untreated for too long, jaw bones can degrade over time. As a result, adjacent teeth lose their hold and fall out in the worst case. However, every gap can be closed individually. For this purpose, modern diagnostic methods such as digital volume tomography, in short DVT, in question, which performs a three-dimensional bone analysis in advance. This particularly low-radiation and precise method first creates a 3D image of the jaw on the computer, which serves as the basis for further treatment.

"In addition, the procedure provides detailed insights into the tissue and bone structures as well as the course of nerve tracts and blood vessels. Each patient has an individualized oral situation, and accordingly we select an implant that optimally fits the jaw conditions, "emphasizes the expert. In general, the individual types differ in length, diameter and thread form. In addition, various high-quality materials such as titanium or the high-performance ceramic zirconium oxide are available, which are characterized by high stability, durability and biocompatibility.

Precise engagement
In particular, the placement of implants is getting faster and faster thanks to 3D surgical planning. With the aid of the computer-assisted navigation system, all steps can be digitally designed in advance and then implemented safely and accurately. Before each implantation, however, existing diseases such as, for example, periodontitis, ie inflammation of the periodontium, must heal completely. If all the conditions are right, the so-called keyhole method, which usually lasts only 15 minutes, is a particularly gentle method. Under local anesthesia, the minimally invasive procedure takes place via tiny incisions in order to injure as little skin and soft tissue as possible. Then the expert drills the canal for the artificial tooth root.

"Firmly anchored in the bone, under ideal conditions, the implant can still be crowned in the same session. Immediately after the procedure, patients are allowed to eat and drink again, so that nothing stands in the way of a carefree day, "says Dr. Mirela-Oana Nilius concluding.
