The Professional Association of German Rheumatism Episodes e.V. recommends applied Tai Chi exercises in rheumatoid pain of the joints. The East Asian exercises can help relieve pain and improve patient mobility.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic joint inflammation, which usually occurs simultaneously on both halves of the body (arthritis = joint inflammation). It is the most common chronic inflammatory rheumatic disease. In Germany, about 1 percent of adults suffer from rheumatoid arthritis.

The rheumatologists of the Professional Association of German Rheumatologists (BDRh) in Bad Aibling point out that tai-chi exercises can relieve joint pain in rheumatism patients. With simple exercises, patients can also increase their mobility. This note applies equally to those with rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia or osteoarthritis. For patients, the Far Eastern popular sport offers much more variety than conventional physiotherapy. It is important, but the association, that you do the exercises continuously and regularly. Then the best results could be achieved.

In a study of more than 350 arthritis patients, US researchers found that the mixture of martial arts and meditation greatly reduced the pain and fatigue of those affected. In addition, the study participants were able to gain more flexibility, strengthen the sense of balance and increase the overall well-being.
