Salmonella pathogen recall for turkey-onion Mettwurst initiated at net
The discount store "Netto" warns against a health risk when eating certain turkey and onion sausage and has called for a return of the goods. The "Ostermeier turkey-onion-Mettwurst" may contain salmonella, according to the discounter. The bacteria can pose a health hazard especially for already weakened people.
The manufacturer has recalled the "Ostermeier Turkey-onion Mettwurst", 150g package, with the best before date (MHD) 05. February 2017 and the lot numbers 17.104104.25 and 17.104104.6, reports the Federal Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety on its portal "Food Warning .com ". The sausage was made by Juma GmbH and distribution was via the Netto-Marken-Discount. Consumption is strongly discouraged. Abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting are possible consequences of a Salmonella infection.

"For reasons of preventive consumer protection" calls the Juma GmbH claims to return the product "Ostermeier turkey and onion Mettwurst", 150g package. The batch numbers 17.104104.25 and 17.104104.6 with the best before date 05. February 2017 are affected. There is a suspicion of Salmonella contamination. According to the manufacturer, the product was offered regionally at Netto Marken-Discount in Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia.
Urgently refrain from eating
Given the suspicion of possible Salmonella contamination, the "Ostermeier turkey and onion Mettwurst" was immediately withdrawn from sale in all Netto stores. Anyone who had previously purchased a corresponding turkey and onion sausage, this can return and will refund the purchase price on presentation of the label with the best before and the aforementioned batch numbers, reports Netto on its website.
