Producers start recall for organic barley grass powder

Product recall for organic barley grass powder due to E. coli bacteria
The producers "joy.foods GmbH" and "Raab Vitalfood GmbH" have launched a comprehensive recall campaign for organic barley grass powder after they were informed by a supplier about the risk of possible contamination with verotoxin-producing bacteria of the genus E. voli. Customers who have affected products at home are advised not to consume them.

"Our German supplier of organic barley grass powder reports that he recently detected E. coli (VTEC) germs in his 2015 product and can not be sure that he supplied us with parts of it last year," the two producers state Goods recall in corresponding messages. The manufacturers also report that their products have already been delivered from August 2015 to mid-December 2015 and that no reports of malaise or complaints have been received so far. However, last year's batches in question would be recalled "in order to be on the safe side of preventive health protection." After three to ten days of incubation, the bacteria can develop symptoms such as diarrhea, severe abdominal cramps or even more serious health problems due to the release of Toxins are triggered.
