Gonorrhea can lead to infertility
Among other things, the sexually transmitted disease gonorrhea can result in infertility. This has the professional association of gynecologists (BVF) pointed out in a recent report. According to the experts, the first symptoms in women are usually harmless: An increased yellow discharge, which develops over time, an unpleasant odor, slight redness and itching, and symptoms such as mild cystitis are often all that the woman notices.

Inform sexual partners of the last three months
"Any woman who detects such symptoms should go to her gynecologist or gynecologist as early as possible to have a test done," Dr. med. Christian Albring, President of the BVF. "The same is true for women without symptoms, whose partners show signs of gonococcal infection, such as violent discharge from the urethra and burning sensation during urination."

If an infection is detected, the doctor usually prescribes antibiotics. As mentioned at the beginning, however, the disease can not be treated successfully in all cases. In addition, all sexual partners of the last three months must be informed and also examined, even if they have not had any disease symptoms. You can protect yourself with condoms. (Ad)
