06/24/2013

In a light sunburn you can resort to different means, but fatty products should not be used better. If the skin burns stronger, a doctor's visit is urgently advised.

Effective moist-cool envelopes
Summer, sun, beach and often a sunburn. Each year, around 140,000 people contract skin cancer, and about 2,300 people die as a result. Sunburn should therefore not be taken lightly, because who suffers more often increases the risk of skin cancer many times over. If you put on a sunburn, it should be better not creamed with a high-fat body care. Prof. Uwe Reinhold from the Professional Association of German Dermatologists in Berlin explained that with such a cream, the heat in the skin could be additionally stowed. Wet-cool envelopes or a cool shower and suntan gel or a lotion are better suited and in severe pain you can also take acetylsalicylic acid (ASA). This would also relieve the inflammation of the skin.

In case of fever and chills to the doctor
Reinhold explained that sunburn occurs when the cell tissue in the upper layers of the skin is damaged by too much UV radiation and becomes inflamed. It reddens and warms the skin. Usually it comes to pain and in worse cases can also form bubbles. If it comes to severe skin burns, or the person has a fever and chills, a doctor's visit is advised.

Prevention is the best sunscreen
The best remedy for sunburn is still prevention. You do not only get sunburned on the beach, but also on walks, car rides or on the deckchair in the garden. Particularly at risk are body areas such as shoulders, the upper body, feet, nose and face. Due to the special exposed position of the designated body parts, these should be protected against sun rays to a particular extent. The best sunscreen is literally protecting you from the sun. This includes not exposing yourself to extreme sunbathing and especially avoiding the midday sun. If you want to enjoy your free time outdoors in the summer, you should take care of adequate sunscreen protection. Also to be advised are headgear and always to go into the shade. (Ad)
