Homeopathic doctors start fundraiser
DZVhÄ, Homeopathy Foundation and WissHom launch initiative on homeopathy research
05/11/2013
The German Central Association of Homeopathic Doctors (DZVhÄ), the Homeopathy Foundation of the DZVÄÄ and the Scientific Society for Homeopathy (WissHom) have launched an initiative to give new impetus to homeopathic research. In order to keep medical homeopathy in the unchallenged position in the health system in the medium and long term, further research is absolutely necessary.
This research must meet the scientific standards, examine the patient benefits of homeopathic treatment in acute and chronic diseases and be included in guidelines. „A major concern, however, are also projects that directly support homeopathic practice“, says Curt Kösters of Wisshom, the Scientific Society for Homeopathy. Project applications from various research areas are already available to the Homeopathy Foundation. Which research is financially supported is decided by the foundation, advised by WissHom. The deadline for submission of applications is 30 September.
Many doctors donate regularly
„Support the joint initiative with a regular donation in favor of pioneering research“, Lars Stange, board member of the foundation, calls on doctors as well as all those interested in homeopathy. The donation and research initiative was already well received by the physicians who bill for services under the selective contracts for homeopathy. After the call for donations, they decided by majority to make a regular part of the income from their homoeopathic work available to the foundation - and thus specifically to research. „For our - still completely voluntary - work in the foundation, this is a really great and enjoyable progress, because we gain planning certainty and can also promote long-term, practice-relevant projects“, Lars Stange draws a first balance sheet.
