Homeopathy in the pharmacy
More and more pharmacies in Germany offer homeopathy
A study by the Gesellschaft für Konsumgüterforschung (GfK) has highlighted the situation of homeopathic remedies in German pharmacies. The result: The demand for homeopathic medicines has increased within the last ten years. The study, commissioned by the German Association of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers (BAH), investigates the status of homeopathic medicines in the offical pharmacy.
Every fourth pharmacy in Germany calls homeopathy a priority topic. There, 94% of homeopathic products are requested by customers several times a day, whereby this is usually accompanied by a high need for advice.
Experience more important than studies
Time and again in homeopathy the importance of studies is discussed. Here, too, the representative GfK survey provides a clear trend. Because 77% consider their own experience more important than studies. For about one in five, both are equally important.
The most common customer
The "typical" homeopathy customer in the pharmacy is: female, young and already mother. At 65%, the most common indication is a cold, followed by allergies. The other places prove injuries, headaches / migraines, teething problems, nervous restlessness and pain. (Pm)
