Purify - effect, performance and contraindications

Purify - effect, performance and contraindications / Naturopathy
Whether it is necessary to purify or not, if this method really does work - it is often discussed. Doctors and therapists also disagree on the presence of waste products in the body. In any case, people who have a cleansing treatment, usually feel much better than before. So, there seems to be some truth to the theory that the body can store waste that can then cause discomfort, discomfort, and some discomfort over time.

Even if you are healthy, but still suddenly the waistband pinches, without the scale moves up, you are tired and exhausted, get one foot in front of the other or just do not feel really comfortable in your skin, is the time come for a purge. This can be done in a variety of ways. In the following lines you will learn about the effects, the implementation, the contraindications and the accompanying measures.

definition

What does detoxification actually mean? The definition for this is not possible in one sentence. Detoxification brings together all the measures that are necessary to rid the body of harmful metabolic products. These include certain tea formulas, a healthy diet, sufficient hydration, exercise in the fresh air and much more. Naturopathy supports a detoxification process in practice even with diversion methods, such as Baunscheidtieren (Baunscheidtherapie), cupping, enemas and massages.

Detoxing has nothing to do with losing weight. While this is sometimes a by-product, it is by no means a priority. It is important that the body is cleansed of its unhealthy slags.

effect

The effect of detoxification can not be proven. Accordingly, this point is still controversial. However, as mentioned earlier, most people who have opted for a detox cure feel right then light, healthy and comfortable. Often, detoxification is also seen as an entry into a new, healthier form of nutrition and life. Or the skin is completely out of balance - here too, a properly performed cure may help. Constant indigestion, the medically clarified and for which no cause was found - here is a purification time worth a try. Also, in chronic diseases, such as osteoarthritis, which may be associated with a longer-term use of painkillers, a detoxification is sometimes a good way to give the body some rest.

In any case, this is not a panacea, but with symptoms such as chronic fatigue, headache, facial blanching and general malaise certainly a start to do the organism something good. If you are not sure whether a detox is right for you, talk to your doctor or alternative practitioner.

What are slags and how do they develop??

Every metabolic process in the body produces waste products. These are eliminated by the body's "cleanup commando". The organs liver, intestine, kidney and lymph are responsible for clearing up or discharging. However, if too many waste products are generated or if the body is simply overwhelmed, the waste accumulates as so-called slags. For example, every woman knows the term orange peel. These dents, which mainly form on the thighs or buttocks, are also related to a build-up of slag in the body.

Another cause of slags is an unhealthy diet that is rich in animal substances. This over-acidifies the body. And these acids remain in the organism and drive there mischief. Who does not know the aching muscle hardening that can not be removed by any massage. These can also be related to hyperacidity.

Even if certain vitamins and minerals are needed, which are needed to reduce the waste products, slag can arise. Another reason is the environment. Toxic substances, such as chemicals from plant protection products, heavy metals, hormones in drinking water or even in plastic bottles, pollutants from textiles, furniture or carpets - all of this pollutes the body.

Anyone who reads this quickly realizes that the so-called slags can easily form and a purge from time to time is really necessary.

The four detoxification organs: liver, intestine, kidneys, lymph

Liver, intestine, kidneys and lymph are involved daily in detoxification. These four organs must then be deliberately addressed in the purification. Different plants act on the most diverse organs.

1. liver

The liver is our biggest detoxification organ. All sorts of toxins, but also drugs, are released from the liver into the bile, thus excreted in the stool or prepared for excretion via the kidneys.
Alcohol, medications, too much fat and sugar, too much food and additives - all of this pollutes the liver.

2. intestine

Today, the intestine is overloaded in many people - especially in the Western world - the local intestinal flora in imbalance. The intestine plays a large part in our immune system, which means that if the gut is not properly intact, our immune system is not. When the intestine has to do with fermentation processes, this again has a bad effect on the liver as it has to break down the fusel alcohols that form during this process.

As you can see, all the organs work together and all these organs have to be supported and stimulated in the process of purification in their work.

Low-fiber diet, too much sweets and raw food in the evening burden the intestines. Fungi and harmful intestinal bacteria have the upper hand when the intestinal flora is disturbed. Inflammation increases, the intestinal mucosa is damaged and this in turn burdens the liver. Headaches, skin irritations, allergies, difficulty concentrating, indigestion are just a few examples of discomfort that can be caused by a damaged bowel. Accordingly, a detoxification is also required here. As mentioned above, the human gut has a large portion of a functioning immune system. The bacteria in it, when in balance, are needed for defense. So another reason to spend more time thinking about a detox.

Who wants to do more for his intestine, makes a gut rehabilitation.

3. kidneys

The liver prepares, which then bring the kidneys then on the bladder to the outside. The kidneys filter about 1500 liters of blood daily, releasing waste products such as creatinine, urea and uric acid into the urine.

As part of a detoxification, the entire urinary system is rinsed sufficiently and with the right substances. Regularly carried out, this could counteract the risk of deposits and inflammation.

4. Lymphatic system

The lymphatic system is also part of the excretory organs. It works in a similar way to a wastewater treatment plant and is mainly responsible for the coarse waste which the blood capillaries can not dispose of. The lymphatic system is like a net that runs through the body. If the lymph can not flow properly, lymphatic congestion occurs and the body's detoxification is blocked. Therefore, from time to time a purification is recommended here as well.

For the whole organism

As described in the previous chapters, the organs all work together. They need each other and thus a purification effect on the whole organism.

Internal attitude

Anyone who has decided to do something good for their bodies for a few weeks should not limit this to just this short time. Here the inner attitude is in demand. A purification can definitely be a fresh start. A beginning with a healthier diet, a beginning with more exercise, but also a rethinking, to listen more to your own body, to take yourself more seriously and to pay attention to yourself.

procedure

What is the procedure? How is detoxified?

Detoxification should be carried out for at least four weeks. The cure itself consists of three pillars:

  1. Special measures, such as tea recipes.
  2. A healthy diet.
  3. Accompanying measures, such as exercise, meditation, brush massages.

Teerezepturen

Special measures for detoxification include tea formulas that stimulate the liver, intestine, kidney, and lymph drains. These include plants such as goldenrod, nettle, milk thistle, dandelion, artichoke and horsetail. A purifying tea, mixed in equal parts from the mentioned plants, is an example of many. One teaspoonful of the mixture is brewed with a quarter liter of boiling water per cup and strained after about seven to eight minutes. Of the tea, it is best to drink three cups a day - unsweetened and in small sips. In addition, two liters of still water are needed to detoxify the body.

nutrition

The diet should be alkaline. This means: lots of fresh fruit and seasonal vegetables and above all, little animal. If you like to eat potatoes, you're in luck. Potatoes, naturally without butter or quark, are one of the most alkaline vegetables. In the evening, raw food is best avoided. Raw food is not properly digested overnight, it begins to ferment in the intestine, which in turn leads to the formation of fusel alcohols. This must then break down the liver - so no raw food in the evening.

Carbohydrates pollute the sugar metabolism and are best eaten in the morning or at noon, but not in the evening. You will ask, "What do I eat in the evening?" The question is justified, but not difficult to answer. Steamed vegetables, cottage cheese, a small piece of fish or now and then a small piece of lean organic meat, vegetable soups, tomato soup or a delicious autumn pumpkin soup.

Healthy foods include berries (such as blueberries), garlic, pomegranates, tomatoes, sprouts, wild plants, oilseeds, parsley, celery, peppers, green tea, citrus, and much more.

Accompanying measures

Detoxification must be supported with accompanying measures. These include, for example, base baths, exercise, relaxation, supplementation, brush massages and sauna.

Base bathrooms

These are not performed more often than once or twice a week. If you do not feel well in the tub, you should stop bathing immediately. If you have high blood pressure, talk to your doctor about it and never bathe when you are alone.

Commercially the most different base bath mixtures are available. However, if you do not want a mixture and prefer a more cost-effective, but also effective alternative, use soda. 100 grams of soda powder are dissolved in the bath water, which should have between 37 ° C and 38 ° C. Lie down and enjoy. You should stay in the tub for about 45 minutes. Do not rinse off afterwards, just dab the skin dry. It is also important to have a rest.

An alternative is a salt bath. For a one percent salt bath you need about two kilograms of salt. Himalayan salt is recommended for this purpose. This is filled at about 37 ° C in the already full-running pan and stirred with his hands until the salt has completely dissolved. The bath time is a maximum of 20 minutes, as a salt bath for the body is quite exhausting. Thereafter, as with the sodium bicarbonate, the skin is dabbed. Also here a rest is absolutely necessary.

Move

Moderate exercise is usually important for everyone. But especially during a detox physical exercise is essential. This does not have to be a sweaty, exhausting sport. In the first place is that the movement should give pleasure. If you have never done sports before, you can start with daily walks. This is quite enough. Especially the movement outside in the fresh air is the alpha and omega. Who wants to perform a purification, should also see this as an introduction to regular sports activities.

Relaxation

Exercise can also be relaxation. Getting your head out in the great outdoors on a walk can be very relaxing.

Others, however, prefer meditation, yoga, progressive muscle relaxation or autogenic training. Choose your personal relaxation method.

supplements

Nowadays, the body is exposed to a plethora of free radicals. These are caused for example by stress, improper diet such as fast food and environmental toxins. The body often can not handle this amount anymore. It requires antioxidants such as vitamins C, E, selenium, OPC, glutathione, flavonoids, lycopene, phenolic acid and much more. Let us advise you the best. A purchase on your own is not recommended. The right substances in the right amount and in the right quality are important.

What is recommended together with the detox is the ingestion of healing clay. This is a powder that binds toxins, pollutants and acids in the intestine and excretes naturally. Also, the ingredients have a positive effect on the skin and connective tissue. Clay must not be in the form of powder, but can be taken quite pleasant in the form of capsules. When taking a sufficient, additional hydration is essential.

brush massages

The brush massages, because they are stimulating, always done in the morning, and the best daily. Choose a brush that is comfortable for you. It should not hurt under any circumstances. Always start with the massage away from the heart, ie with the right side of the body, the right foot - on the outside upwards and inside again towards the foot. Then on the front up and back down again. This is done with the left leg. After that, the right and then the left buttock halves come to the series. Follow right and then left arm - starting from the hand towards the shoulder and back to the hand. The chest is encircled in the shape of an eight, the belly in a clockwise direction. Finally, the back is on it. This helps a brush that has a handle or you can help it. You will see, the massages are really fit. Then you can indulge yourself with a body lotion.

sauna

A sauna visit also contributes to the purification. However, you should only do this if you are healthy, do not have high blood pressure and have no vein problems. If you are unsure, consult your doctor first. Once or twice a week, sauna would positively support overall cleansing.

General Tips

As part of a detoxification, it is essential to think of adequate hydration. The slags are dissolved by the used medicinal plants and must be flushed out. If you take healing clay, you have to drink one or two more glasses.

For the preparation of the food cold-pressed, high quality oils are the absolute must. Look for fresh food and stay away from ready meals. Coffee and sugar should be reduced, and alcohol and nicotine should be avoided altogether.

Try to sleep well and remember to take a break over and over again.

Support in naturopathic practice

Therapies from naturopathic practice support the purification process. These include cupping, Baunscheidtherapie, massages, foot reflexology, Gua Sha (shaving method from TCM) and Schüßler salts. In some practices, enemas or leech therapy are also used. (Sw)
