Marijuana and hashish
Marijuana varies in color from whitish to brown and green to light violet tones. The color depends on the origin, the method of cultivation and the dryness of the substance. Hashish, on the other hand, refers to the pressed resin of the flowers and leaves. The color turns from greyish brown to a dull black and a glossy black when much so-called hashish oil is present. Hashish has a friable to firm consistency, depending on the degree of freshness it can also be greasy to a paste. For sale, it is pressed into plates, rolled into balls or chopsticks (sausages).
Smoking hash or marijuana is a relatively new form of cannabis use. (Image: nokturnal / fotolia.com)It can be mixed with tobacco and smoke in cigarette papers as a joint. However, this method is relatively new - the traditional hash cultures in Morocco, Lebanon, Pakistan or Afghanistan used long-stemged pipes, called shillums, which are tubes that stretch towards the end or even the shisha-like hookah. Hashish can also be eaten, for example, in biscuits or unfolds its effect in a tea.
THC
Tetra hydrocamabinol (THC) is the main supplement of hemp. The THC content varies considerably with the individual hemp varieties. Plants that are approved as crops in Germany but are not allowed to use hashish produce carry around 1.5% THC, varieties in Iran or Afghanistan over 5% and new "high-performance" breeds over 20%.
A medicine
Today Uruguay offers marijuana in pharmacies at a price of about one euro. The aim of this legalization is, on the one hand, to dehydrate the illicit market and, on the other hand, to offer patients a medically effective substance. In Germany, cannabis may only be sold for purely medical purposes, and a doctor examines the need for this with individual patients. There are currently a few hundred pain patients, as well as multiple sclerosis sufferers who receive cannabis on medical certificate. In fact, the substance has been known for millennia as a means of relieving pain.
Canada, Israel, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic are moving much further in the legalization of THC-containing hemp than Germany, but not as far as Uruguay. In 20 US states, cannabis is allowed for medical purposes and is mainly used for headaches and sleep disorders.
The Indians and China cultivated hemp already 5000 years ago, on the one hand they used the fibers for clothes and baskets, on the other hand they used the plant as a remedy.
cannabinoids
The body itself produces cannabinoids that resemble the substances in hemp. They have an effect on the autonomic nervous system and lead to slight euphoria such as relaxation, they also change the perception of colors and sounds, so they are hallucinogens.
Long-term use of cannabis can negatively affect memory and concentration. The hallucinogenic quality is in the long run the risk of chronic psychological changes to ongoing psychosis.

Of all cannabis products hashish oil acts the strongest, because it is an extract of the THC-containing resin, not a real oil. The content of the active ingredient can be 70%. Samples of the Federal Criminal Police Office were between 5 and 41%.
Cannabis oil usually has a golden yellow color and is liquid. A drop in a joint is enough to achieve the desired effect. It is also banned in small quantities in Germany.
Medical effect
Although hemp has been used in medicine for thousands of years, its effect as a medicine has not been adequately researched. The cannabinoid CBD does not cause intoxication but is thought to be effective against inflammation, arthritis and nerve pain. It also dampens the symptoms of mental illness such as bipolar disorder.
The discussion about the legalization of cannabis is highly ideological in Western countries, and that is one reason why a substantive examination of cannabis in medicine is pending: opponents demonize the substance, advocates praise cannabis as a panacea against everything and everything.
No side effects?
An American study of hundreds of users of cannabis suggests that prolonged use inhibits white blood cell development, weakening the immune system, and exposing those affected to various diseases.
Cannabis also seems to reduce the production of the male sex hormone testosterone, so chronic use could damage male potency. Just like alcohol, it breaks down the sex drive.
Makes cannabis dependent?
The strength of a drug is classically different, among other things, whether it makes no, "only" mentally or physically dependent. Today, however, neuroscience shows that the strict separation between physical and psychological can not be sustained: mental processes lead to biochemical changes in the body, physical processes are accompanied by changes in the psyche.
The same is true of mental dependency: a person who feels mentally dependent on something shows physical symptoms - the body now emits hormones if it only thinks about the substance. Researchers in San Francisco assume that hashish in the narrow sense of the term physically dependent. Addicts would show the same withdrawal symptoms as with hard drugs.
Another unwanted side effect is the flood of information. In the long run, cannabis users can barely distinguish between important and unimportant information.

From Morocco comes the typical yellow-brown hashish plate. The traditional growing area is located in the central Rif mountains. In recent decades, producers have introduced hybrid varieties and irrigated irrigation, both of which have resulted in increased quality and quantity of Moroccan substance.
Zero-Zero is pure hashish from the Harzdrüsenkopf after the first sieving. It does not last long, but it is very psychedelic.
Double Zero-Zero stands out for its excellent quality, contains virtually no foreign dust or plant parts. Normal Zero is created after the second sieve and contains more flower parts, but is cheaper. Casablanca is similar to this type and tastes similar to ginger in tea.
Sputnik is dark brown, very resinous and comes from the highlands of the Rifgebirge, Chocolata has a greenish black color, is picked before the actual harvest, has the best quality, and that is why it is usually consumed by the Moroccans themselves. Black Morocco smells of mint and has a strong effect psychedelic. Agadir, named after the tourist stronghold on the Atlantic, is dark with sweetish taste.
Pakistanis, Afghans, Arabs or Kashmiri not only stand for the origin, but also for effective hashish with a dark color.
"Balls" are very potent hashish that comes in balls that can be kneaded by hand. Caramellos are hand-rolled "sausages" that are laid in hashish oil.
King Mohammed calls a high-quality bright hashish, King Hassan II a darker one. Sierra Ketana stimulates and relaxes.
Puck is meant pejorative. It refers to dark brown fabric, which is stretched heavily and scratching the throat when smoking.
Eiermarokk is artificial hashish in that hashish oil is dripped onto plant fibers.
Green Turk and red Lebanese
Green Turk originated in Turkey, was widespread in Germany until the 1970s, but was supplanted by the more lucrative heroin trade from the Turkish market. "Kurd", a hashish from the Diyarbakir region, is currently rife in this country.
"Lebanese" is barely on the market due to the "war against drugs" in Lebanon. He has a red color, a high CBD content as well as a high THC content, according to users to mental clarity in physical inertia led, so the state of dizziness.
Black Afghan is black on the outside and brownish on the inside. It has an intense odor, a high THC content and is usually softened with sheep or goat fat. Afghan people burn very slowly and heavily, making them tired quickly. The same is true of black Pakistani, which, however, has a harder consistency.
In India, the oral intake of products from the leaves of the hemp plant is legal. (Image: kikisora / fotolia.com)Bhang and Chassas
India is one of the hashish centers of the world. Oral ingestion of leaf products is legal here, and this bhang is sold in state-licensed stores. Hashish oil and hashish are illegal, as is the sale of female inflorescences. Chassas, the Indian term for hashish, exists on the subcontinent as bars or stripes.
