About salmonella

Salmonella is one of the most common reasons why food is recalled. According to the Robert Koch Institute, a salmonella disease manifests itself within a few days after the distortion of contaminated food with symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, occasional vomiting and mild fever. In most cases, the symptoms resolve themselves after a few days.

Do you have to go to the doctor with salmonella??

Caution should be exercised in infants, toddlers, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems. It can sometimes develop more severe disease. People who have eaten contaminated foods and show severe or persistent symptoms should seek medical attention and a possible salmonella infection. A preventive investigation for suspicion without symptoms is not necessary. (Vb)
