Warning of alleged invoice by mail from Schmidt-Online GmbH from Arnstein

For a few days, a fake company called „Schmidt-Online GmbH“ Sent emails. In the mail, the supposed customer is asked to pay an open invoice. In the attachment of the mail is a zip file. There is supposed to be a list of orders and an invoice included. Recipients of this mail should under no circumstances open the attachment! The file attachment contains malicious software that damages the computer.

The following e-mail is sent primarily to businesspeople, medical practices and alternative medical practices:
Subject: Invoice date Schmitd-Online GmbH and the following content:

„Dear customer, in our email from -Datum- you have already warned, because the open claim of 775.21 euros has not yet been paid by you. We ask that you settle your claim as soon as possible. We are forced to charge you the cost of 19,00 Euro in addition to the outstanding claim as a reminder. We ask you to send the amount due to 1009.2012 on the specified account. Invoice and ordered products are in the attached folder. With obliging regards Schmidt-Online GmbH Arnstein (Mon-Fri 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, Sat 9:00 am to 4:00 pm) Managing Director: Jonas Fuchs Tax-No .: DE149831047“

After detailed research, such a company does not exist and also the indicating tax number is wrong. Also is the Lord „Jonas Fox“ not the CEO of the company. The attached file is the Trojan „Backdoor.Win32Nuclerrot.II“. The mail should be deleted immediately and the attachment should not be opened! If you have already opened the attachment, you should run a full anti-virus program. If the malware could not be located, a PC expert should search the computer and possibly rebuild the Windows system completely. This is generally considered the safest way to get the PC clean again.
