Doctors remove 20 pubic lice from the eyelashes of a toddler
A small girl in China suffered from itchy eyes for days before her mother brought her to the doctor. He quickly found the cause of the itching and reddening of the eyes: in the lash line of the four-year-olds, lice had taken root.

Around 20 adult pubic lice in the eyelashes
In the southeastern Chinese city of Xiamen, a doctor has removed around 20 adult, about one and a half millimeters thick lice from the eyelashes of a four-year-old girl. According to a report in the Chinese People's Daily, the toddler had rubbed her itchy red eyes for days before her mother went to a hospital with her. In the university clinic, the girl was examined by eye specialists. "When I tried to raise my eyelids, I noticed they were sticky," chief physician Liu Zhaosheng told the Chinese newspaper.

Unhygienic conditions as a cause
In a closer examination with tweezers, he discovered small insects that had already deposited many eggs. Practicing as a doctor for 20 years, Liu was shocked and said he had never seen such a thing "in the eyes of a child". The eyelashes had to completely off to free the toddler from the parasites. According to the newspaper report, the infestation is probably due to poor hygienic conditions. Even with the grandmother, who often cared for the four-year-old, had been found in the eyelashes pubic lice.

Natural protection against lice
Pubic lice occur especially in the pubic hair. According to experts, you should therefore go to the urologist for itching in the genital area. Also in armpit and beard hair they nest sometimes. In case of an infestation, home remedies for lice can often help. Sometimes it is enough to shave the affected regions. Usually it is advised to wash bed linen, clothing and towels of those affected at least 60 degrees. Combs and brushes should be cleaned every day in hot vinegar water or soapy water and not be exchanged with other people. In Russia last year a warning caused a lot of ridicule. The local consumer protection agency had pointed out that a selfie-waiver protects against lice, since the parasites crawl from head to head in such recordings, when the people put together for it.
