Overweight and obesity: Many first graders are too fat
The World Health Organization (WHO) recently reported that millions of small children worldwide are far too fatigued. Even Germany is not immune to the problem. Many first-grade students are overweight or even obese.

One in ten first graders weighs too much
Even toddlers often take too many calories and proteins. No wonder that many ABC shooters are too fat when they come to school. As the news agency dpa reports, every tenth first grader in Thuringia weighs too much. Doctors were overweight at 2,131 children in pre-school examinations. This is from the latest statistics of the State Administration Office for the past school year. 11.4 percent of the students brought accordingly too many pounds on the scales. It is said that this value is about the same as in previous years. Anthropologist Katrin Kromeyer-Hauschild from the University Hospital of Jena, who analyzed the country's data, said the joy of stagnation was only limited. Because 4.7 percent of first graders are obese, so more than slightly overweight.

More sport and less sugar
Health experts have been trying for years to counteract the problem of increased obesity - especially in children and adolescents. In addition to a diet that requires less fat and less sugar, most professionals recommend more exercise for children to prevent obesity. Recently, an interesting study has been published, which showed that water dispensers in schools can reduce the overweight in children. In the journal JAMA Pediatrics, for example, the US researchers reported that in schools where water dispensers were present, there was a slight decline in student overweight because, among other things, they consumed fewer dairy products - with sugar.
