Many people are quite open to alternative medicine therapies
An unrepresentative survey of jameda, a portal for medical and naturopathic recommendations, among 1,328 patients found that nearly one in two was receiving treatment from a natural health practitioner (46%). Of those who have said they have never been to a health practitioner, two out of three can imagine for the future.

Of all the women surveyed who have never been to a health practitioner for treatment, 72% said that they could imagine this in the future. But the men, who have only had experience with conventional medicine, are also open-minded: 58% of them would give non-medical practitioners a chance
.
The willingness to go to a naturopath also seems to depend on age. 71 and 61% of the 40- to 59-year-olds and the over-60s could imagine it. Of the under-40s, however, only 34% are open to treatment by naturopaths.

The main reason why patients choose to receive treatment from a natural health practitioner is their approach to not treating their patients as being detached from other circumstances. In addition, 34% of patients told naturopaths that alternative healing would help them as well as conventional medicine.
