Conventional therapy for bronchial asthma: effective medications with side effects.
Conventionally, in bronchial asthma, depending on the extent of the disease, sprays, tablets, inhalations and injections are used to prevent seizures or to interrupt discomfort caused by antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, respiratory tract-expanding and allergy-inhibiting active ingredients. These include in particular cortisone, antihistamines, cromoglycinic acid, theophylline and leukotriene antagonists. The treatment is useful for symptom suppression (and sometimes life support) especially in severe bronchial asthma, but has no curative effect and a number of side effects.
