Smoothies are not thirst quenchers but meals
Although vitamin tablets in drinkable form, so-called smoothies, are generally considered to be healthy - but since they have many calories, they should not be seen as a quick thirst quencher, but rather as a snack.

According to the experts of the Bonn Consumer Information Service, a smoothie contains so many nutrients that it has to be treated as a small meal in between. Consumers should therefore take a look at the labels of the drinks. This shows whether there is actually as much mango in the bottle as the image on the packaging would suggest.
Consumers can therefore see which other ingredients, with the exception of fruits and vegetables, are still included. And the expiration date reminds you: a chilled ready-made smoothie is only stable for a few days. In addition, quality is recognizable by the 5-day logo: Smoothies with this logo must consist of at least half of marrow, puree or lumpy ingredients. They must not contain any additional sugar, additives or isolated nutrients and should not be concentrated through dehydration, according to the aid consumer advocates. (Sb)
