Sweet after eating is pure habit
Nutritionists: Craving for a dessert after eating is a sheer habit

Many people have to eat something sweet after the regular meal. The dessert at the end of a meal is simply part of it. But the "sweetness after" is nothing more than a typical habit that can be weaned again. There is no nutritional background.
The craving for something sweet is a mundane habit. The feeling after the main meal to eat a dessert, did not participate „to do urgently needed nutrients“, as the nutrition expert and physician Andreas Pfeiffer of the University Hospital Charité emphasized in Berlin. The appetite was learned. „We are conditioned to the taste.“ The organism had set itself to take something sugary after eating. Therefore, the body also regularly ask for something sweet.
But the dessert after the meal is not really necessary, says the nutritionist. Just by other carbohydrates, which are contained in rice or potatoes, there is a high blood sugar level by the rise. However, those who, for example, do not suffer from obesity or metabolic disorders, could of course treat themselves more often to a dessert.
In other cultures, no sweets are served. In Japan, for example „something sweet after eating rather unusual“. There are already more sushi for breakfast or hot food eaten. (Sb)
