Salmonella detected in tea sausage
Salmonella bacteria detected in Rügenwalder Mühle Teewurst. Manufacturer initiated recall.

The food manufacturer „Rügenwalder mill“ calls the tea sausage due to Salmonella finds „Rügenwalder Teewurst fine, 125 grams in the intestine“ back from the trade. In a routine inspection Salmonella were detected in the sausage, as the sausage manufacturer from Bad Zwischenhahn reported.
Impurities affect margins with a best before date of 27 December, 28 December, 30 December and 31 December 2010. The batch number is: gr0111. However, no packaged tea brushes are affected, but unpackaged products at the sausage and meat counter. As the company further informed, the affected sausages had already been brought back from the trade. Other meat and sausage products of the manufacturer are not affected.
Foods contaminated with Salmonella can cause Salmonella enteritis in humans. It is a gastrointestinal inflammation that causes nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain and diarrhea. The bacterial infection is particularly dangerous for infants and toddlers, pregnant women and people with a weakened immune system. (Sb)
