First product recall started
"For the first time in the company's history, we have to carry out a product recall to protect the end user," the company regrets on its website. Consumption of the products from the mentioned batch is not recommended.

According to Rügenwalder specialties, the goods were taken out of the market as a precautionary measure. "Customers who have bought the appropriate product can return this against reimbursement of the purchase price without presenting the receipt in their shops or non-free to send Rügenwalder specialties GmbH & Co. KG," the company writes.

Danger to health
Salmonella are bacteria that can cause various diseases in humans, especially in the gastrointestinal area. After eating contaminated foods, you may experience discomfort such as abdominal pain, fever, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting. Especially in infants, people with weakened immune systems and seniors, such symptoms can occur.

Product sold nationwide
According to press reports, a spokesman said the product is sold nationwide and mostly in discount stores. The company from Bad Arolsen is not to be confused with the company "Rügenwalder mill" from the Lower Saxony Bad Zwischenahn.

The latter had to launch a recall campaign for coarse tea sausage just a few months ago, after bacteria had been detected as part of a random sampling. (Ad)
