Dr. Oetker has launched a recall campaign for chopped hazelnuts with a sell-by date of 01 January 2013. The shredded hazelnuts from the baking ingredients range of Dr. Ing. Oetker could contain metal filaments that have come with a faulty supply of raw materials in the processing, reported the news agency on the recall of the Bielefeld company.
Possibly impurities with metal threads
According to media reports, Dr. Oetker on Saturday, due to the contamination with metal threads for the possibly affected packet with chopped hazelnuts started a precautionary recall. Affected are therefore the „Dr. Oetker hazelnuts chopped 100g“ with the European Article Number (EAN) 4 000521 007188 and the printed lot number 01.13-L002 or 01.13-L003, durable until January 2013. The reason for the contamination of the products with metal threads was allegedly a faulty supply of raw materials. On the website of Dr. med. Oetker are to the current recall action so far however no information to find. To avoid potential health risks, consumers should refrain from eating chopped hazelnuts for safety reasons and return the products to the store for reimbursement of the price. (Fp)
