The Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety is currently warning about several Feldmühle potato products. The manufacturer "Fa. Martin Amberger Potato Processing Dolli-Werk GmbH & Co. KG "has announced that during checks plastic foreign bodies were discovered in the food. For reasons of preventive consumer protection, the manufacturer recalls the affected products.

These are various processed potato products distributed through Foodservice Aviko. Aviko claims to be one of the four leading potato processors in the world. The products were offered throughout Germany.

The following potato products of the Feldmühle brand with the best before dates are affected from the recall 09. November 2018 to 14. December 2018:

• Feldmühle Naturel Fried slices spiced (Item No. 11451/11453)
• Feldmühle Naturel roasting slices unseasoned (Item No. 11433/12433)
• Feldmühle Naturel Sliced ​​Potatoes (Item No. 11432/12432)
• Feldmühle Naturel Fried potatoes with bacon (Item No. 11452/12752)
• In addition: Feldmühle Röstiteig (Item No. 47480) with the best before dates 16.10.2018 to 06.11.2018

The risk for further foreign object finds is estimated by the manufacturer as low. Nevertheless, he advises against eating. Anyone who has purchased the above mentioned products can return them at the place of purchase and will be refunded the purchase price.

What dangers are caused by foreign bodies in the food??

Metallic foreign bodies, fragments of glass or broken glass, fragments of wood and plastic can cause cuts and punctures in the oral cavity.
