The Rhodius mineral springs recall a batch of mineral water due to detergent residues. The water is tasted severely impaired, but there is no health risk. The bottles can be returned in the trade.
Detergent residues in a batch
The Rhodius Mineral Wells and Beverages GmbH from Burgbrohl in the Eifel call a precautionary consumer protection back a batch of mineral water. It should contain detergent residues. As the company from Rhineland-Palatinate announced on Friday was a batch of the product „Volcano Park Source Eifel Medium“ in 12 x 0.7 liter glass reusable boxes with the best before date „January 16“ and the batch number „L 4029“ affected on the label.
No acute health hazard
The company drew attention to the fact that there is no acute health risk when consuming the product. However, the mineral water is greatly impaired in taste and has residues of various benzene derivatives such as toluene. Above all, beverage distributors in the north of Rhineland-Palatinate were supplied. The company asks customers to return the affected boxes in their markets. The purchase price will be refunded.
Impurities in food
Due to errors in the manufacturing processes, contaminants or foreign bodies in food products can occur again and again. The solvent toluene may cause nerve, kidney and possibly liver damage in certain quantities and is considered to be toxic for reproduction and teratogenic. The substance may also cause discomfort such as dizziness, headache or dizziness. (Ad)
