The manufacturer "Ferme Chapuis, 43120 Bas-En-Basset, France" has started a recall of the raw milk cheese "Perle de Compostelle" with the expiry date: 16.11.2018 and the identification number: FR 43.020.002 CE. According to the information, the cheese was sold in stores of Rewe Dortmund and Kaufpark in North Rhine-Westphalia.
"Consumers who have purchased this product are asked not to consume it and bring it back to the store," the producer says.
Health experts say the bacteria can cause diarrhea (sometimes bloody diarrhea), abdominal pain and vomiting, with or without fever, within a week of eating contaminated products.
"Severe kidney complications, especially in children, are possible," says the manufacturer.
