The Saxon State Office for the Environment in Leipzig has issued an ozone warning for the current weekend. Affected are the regions Zinnwald and Schkeuditz. „Greater efforts should not be made due to high ozone concentrations“, said in a statement from the authorities. This does not include conditioning and endurance training outdoors. Saturday noon the warning threshold in Zinnwald was exceeded. This was followed by the region around Schkeuditz in the early afternoon.

Only in the evening should the ozone pollution fall again step by step. Infants, asthma patients, the health-conscious, elderly and sensitive people are particularly often affected by impairments. Patients suffer as a result from irritating cough and irritation of the mucous membranes. Starting at a value of 200 µg / m3 ozone frequently causes symptoms such as coughing, lacrimation, headache as well as a worsening of lung function.
