Recommended maximum dose for men and women alike
According to the AFP news agency, British men should drink about one-third less alcohol than previously recommended under the reformed guidelines of their health authorities. Only a maximum of 14 alcohol units - equivalent to about six pint of beer - they should eat per week, as it is called in the first time for 20 years updated guidelines. That is the value that applies to women. For men, the guideline was previously 21 alcohol units. For women, the maximum amount recommended in the 1995 version remains the same.
