Atopic dermatitis Use only smooth and finely woven garments
In Germany, according to experts, around four million people are affected by the chronic inflammatory skin disease eczema. The majority of them are children. Although the disease can not be cured, there are several ways to relieve the symptoms. One of them concerns the clothes.
Very many children and adolescents affected
Neurodermatitis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease and, according to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), "among the most common childhood and adolescent diseases". The disease is usually associated with severe itching, dry, flaky and reddened skin. "The itching and the visible rashes eczema can greatly affect the psyche and the quality of life of those affected," write the experts.
Eczema can not be cured
Eczema can not be cured causally. Instead, the main purpose of the therapy is to treat the symptoms in order to relieve the symptoms. In addition to the basic care by regular creaming of the skin, the treatment includes the avoidance of risk factors or environmental influences, which were recognized during the course of the disease as a trigger for disease relapses.
For example, it is known that certain foods can increase the symptoms of atopic dermatitis and the diet should therefore be individually tailored.
Garments made of smooth and finely woven materials
People suffering from neurodermatitis should better wear garments made of smooth and finely woven materials such as cotton or viscose. Because the surface structure of these fibers irritates the skin less, explained the dermatologist Annice Heratizadeh of the Hannover Medical School (MHH) in a message from the news agency dpa.
Suitable materials are silk and linen. Synthetic fibers such as nylon and polyester as well as coarse wool, on the other hand, irritate the skin and cause itching. It is advised to remove the labels to avoid even the slightest irritation. Since even rough seams can cause itching, sometimes it makes sense to wear the garments on the left side. Airy clothes are especially pleasant. As a result, there is no build-up of heat, which additionally stimulates eczema.
Give away therapies
Natural remedies can also help with atopic dermatitis, for example radon heat therapy. Patients who want to try a treatment with the naturopath, they may also get these free of charge, because an entrepreneur wants to give away 200 natural atopic dermatitis therapies.
In this project, the successful businessman Paul Scheuschner - even concerned - up to 200 people who are suffering from atopic dermatitis, 500 euros to finance treatment with a natural health practitioner. Information and the possibility to register can be found on the project website. (Ad)
