Do not consume the affected product
Specifically, it concerns the batch with the best before date 15.07.2017. Consumers who have bought this French sheep's milk cheese are asked not to consume it and to dispose of the food itself or return it to the shop.

Escherichia coli bacteria (E. coli) - also called "coli bacteria" - can cause gastrointestinal disturbances with watery diarrhea within one week of consumption of contaminated products, which can be accompanied by abdominal pain, fever, nausea and vomiting.

Particularly at risk are infants, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems.

"Consumers who have consumed the above product and are experiencing the symptoms described are urged to consult their doctor immediately and to point out the consumption of the product as well as the place of purchase and date," the statement says. (Ad)
