As the discounter "Netto" reported on its website, the dairy Lactalis from Kehl am Rhein (Ortenaukreis) has started a recall for their noble mushroom cheese "Roquefort Société slice" (100 gram packs) from the self-service shelves. "Toxin-producing Escherichia coli were detected in this product during an inspection," the statement says. These germs can harm your health.
Do not consume the affected product
Specifically, it concerns the batch with the best before date 15.07.2017. Consumers who have bought this French sheep's milk cheese are asked not to consume it and to dispose of the food itself or return it to the shop.
Escherichia coli bacteria (E. coli) - also called "coli bacteria" - can cause gastrointestinal disturbances with watery diarrhea within one week of consumption of contaminated products, which can be accompanied by abdominal pain, fever, nausea and vomiting.
Particularly at risk are infants, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems.
