The Westphalian meat product factory Stockmeyer GmbH calls the article "Stockmeyer Teewurst roughly Rügenwalder kind", 125 g (tea sausage in the cup), production lot with the consumption data 06.10.2018, 08.10.2018 and 09.10.2018 back. The company said that E. coli bacteria were detected during official investigations. The dangerous germs can cause severe gastrointestinal symptoms, among other things. According to the information, the products were sold nationwide in markets of Netto Marken-Discount.

It is said that the withdrawal from the markets has already been initiated.

Customers who have purchased the product can return it in the trade for a refund of the purchase price.

Serious illnesses possible

"These products should not be consumed," the company warns in the message.

A disease with the detected germs usually manifests within a week of infection with diarrhea, abdominal cramps, nausea and vomiting.

Especially infants, toddlers, seniors and people with weakened immune systems can develop more severe illnesses with bloody diarrhea.

And according to the Bavarian State Office for Health and Food Safety (LGL) develops in five to ten percent of sufferers, especially in preschool children, "following the bowel discomfort (about one week after onset of diarrhea) a serious disease".

The Fleischwarenfabrik Stockmeyer GmbH points out that persons who have eaten the recalled food and develop severe or persistent symptoms, seek medical attention and should point out a possible VTEC infection.
