Nail Care Using sticks and lemon bath Protectively push back cuticles
Especially women care about their fingernails is extremely important. Of great importance is the cuticle. This has a protective function and protects the nail bed from harmful influences. Experts recommend not to cut off this skin, but push it back.
Cuticle with protective function
Manicure is a daily routine for many women. It's not just about looking good, it's also about preventing problems. Regular care of fingernails can, among other things, reduce the risk of brittle nails or a nail. Of particular importance is the care of the cuticle. This has a protective function and protects the nail bed from external influences such as chemical substances. In a message from the news agency dpa, the head of the Bremen Vocational School for Cosmetics Joli Visage, Michael Hannemann, explained that you risk injury and nail bed inflammation if you cut off the skin. Neutralize pH with a lemon bath
The expert's conclusion is therefore: "Push back rather than cut back." He recommends that you first make a cuticle bath. This works keratolytically and is therefore good for removing the cornea. Then you reach for the cuticle remover, which is applied with a cotton swab or a brush - and only on the cuticle, not on the surrounding skin. Then gently push the cuticle back with a stick. As such cuticle removers are usually very spicy, Hannemann advises to make a lemon bath afterwards to neutralize the pH. The skin has a pH of about 5.6 - the cuticle remover but a pH of about ten. By the lemon bath the value is normalized again. Finally, the nails can be maintained with a little oil. (Ad)
