Crohn's disease - a serious intestinal disease

Almost half a million people in Germany suffer from chronic inflammatory bowel disease Crohn's disease - and the number is rising. The chronic inflammation occurring in bouts mainly affects the intestinal walls, which become highly inflamed. People with Crohn's disease often can not live a normal life because of symptoms such as unbearable abdominal pain, persistent malaise, fever and diarrhea. Not infrequently, in the advanced stage of Crohn's disease, especially parts of the intestine have to be removed piece by piece.

As with many chronic diseases in which the conventional medicine has no satisfactory solutions, newly adapted naturopathic treatments can help.

In the view of Chinese medicine, for example, in Crohn's disease, inflammation is produced in the wrong place. Such inflammatory episodes can be triggered by stress, mental stress or malnutrition. "However, it must first be analyzed exactly when the 'nasty' development has started and why it has led to the inflammatory episodes in the digestive tract. Christian Schmincke, Chief Physician of the Clinic of Steigerwald specializing in Chinese medicine.

For this, the patient's knowledge is used as "expert of his own" for the treatment. The Chinese diagnosis often shows that patients with chronic inflammatory bowel syndrome usually have no productive respiratory tract infections several years before their illness. Productive means that the infection lasts between 1 and 2 weeks and passes through a mucous phase with yellow-green mucus followed by regeneration. If the infections can not be brought to a good end within this time window, a nonspecific inflammatory potential gradually builds up, which leads to chronic intestinal inflammation.

The alternative treatment of chronic intestinal inflammation is essentially to gradually return the organism to the onset of the immune disorder. He will be able to correct the immune behavior and rehearse it.

The patient is enabled to show a new self-affirmation and demarcation behavior in the social environment and to realign his voltage balance in psychosocial contact. The most important alternative treatment method for Crohn's disease is the treatment with Chinese medicines.

In the alternative treatment, the Chinese medicinal plant formulas have the main task of helping the organism to direct the inflammatory pressure from the intestinal mucosa back to the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract. "This is a very time-consuming and complex therapy process that can take up to 2 years," explains Dr. med. Schmincke. But it's worth it: "Documentation shows that 75 percent of patients experience a significant improvement, often with a simultaneous reduction or even the complete discontinuation of medication."
