In Mexico, medical professionals have removed a 60-kilogram tumor in a 51-year-old female patient, according to media reports. In a four-hour operation, the surgeons were able to remove the giant tumor from the ovaries or abdomen of the patient. In recent years, more reports about the huge tumors have caused a stir. Multiple tumors weighing more than 20 kilograms were surgically removed. However, the current message from Mexico City is setting new standards here. 60 kilograms of tumor tissue in a single patient surpass anything known so far.

The information of the news agency „AP“ According to the report, the affected patient could not leave her home for two years because of the huge tumor. Around five years ago, growth of the tumor in the ovaries of the woman began. In the past two years, the tumor has grown so much that the woman could barely move. Finally, her daughter persuaded her to see a doctor. The physicians may have been relatively surprised given the size of the tumor. Eventually, they decided to surgically remove the altered tissue. A team of surgeons took four hours to remove the 60-kilogram tumor, reports the „AP“ citing the attending physician Gilberto Inzulza at the Hospital IMSS in the city of Cabo San Lucas. (Fp)
