Recall at Lidl: Minced pork could contain plastic parts
The manufacturer SB-Convenience GmbH has started a recall for certain batches of the product "Landjunker pork, 500g". The meat could contain blue plastic foreign bodies. The product should never be consumed because of possible risk of injury.
Minced pork could contain plastic foreign matter
The manufacturer SB-Convenience GmbH retrieves the product "Landjunker pork, 500g" with the consumption data 21.01.2018, Lot 36451886 and 22.01.2018, Lot 36451570 with the identification mark DE NW 20028 EG. The product was sold at the discounter Lidl in the federal states of Baden-Württemberg, Hesse, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate and Schleswig-Holstein. "It can not be ruled out that the product concerned contains blue plastic foreign bodies," a company statement says.

"Due to the potential risk of injury when eating, customers should pay attention to the recall and never consume the product."
According to the information, Lidl has already withdrawn the product concerned from the sale.
The product can be returned to all Lidl stores. The purchase price will be refunded, even without presentation of the receipt.
Other products of the manufacturer SB-Convenience GmbH sold at Lidl as well as pork from other manufacturers are not affected by the recall.
Foreign bodies in food
In food production, due to errors in the manufacturing processes, contaminants or foreign bodies such as aluminum or plastic residues can occur again and again.
Above all, it can be dangerous if the objects are glass.
