Herbal mixture spice confiscated
Police confiscated large quantities of the dangerous herbal mixture "Spice".
Although since December 2008 in Germany a prohibition procedure of herbal mixture „Spice“ has been initiated and the trade has been banned since then, has a store in Zollernalbkreis consisting of synthetic cannabinoids and various dried parts of the plant herbal mixture „Spice“ still sold. In a raid, the police confiscated around 100 packets of the hazardous mixture.
At the end of October, three young men from the region had to be medically treated after smoking the mixture in a clinic. Two of the patients had significant health problems. The police then identified the shop where the mix was sold to consumers.
According to the police, another store was found, that with the sale of „Spice“ earned considerable revenues. During the extensive searches of the rooms, the prohibited goods were secured. A preliminary investigation was initiated against the shop owner because of the offense against the narcotics law (BtMG), as a spokesman of the police communicated. At the same time, the authorities once again vigorously warned against using the chemical mixture. Again and again young people in hospitals had to be treated for acute dizziness, nausea and vomiting. So far, the sequelae and long-term effects have not yet been conclusively clarified.
