Put the pumpkin in the oven for 30 to 60 minutes at 180 degrees
There are pumpkin varieties in which the shell is less firm and edible. This includes the Hokkaido pumpkin. However, especially hard pumpkins have to be peeled. Walburga Loock advises dropping the pumpkin on the ground before crushing it. In this way, it either shatters into large pieces or gets cracks in the shell, so that the pumpkin is easier to cut. „Then core the pieces and place them in the oven“, advises the expert. After half an hour to one full hour at 180 degrees in the oven, the pumpkin meat can be easily detached from the shell.
