The health insurance AOK PLUS lowers from 2015 contribution rate

25/10/2014

As the insured and employer representatives of the board of directors of the fund now unanimously decided in Waldheim, the AOK Plus lowered its contribution rate from January 1 by 0.6 percent from 15.5 to 14.9 percent.

“The new contribution rate will not be a one-day fly, but will continue to exist beyond 2015”, Sven Nobereit, Chairman of the Board of AOK PLUS. For Nobereit, that's the consequence of years of successful and solid work by the Saxon-Thuringian health insurance fund. „It was clear to us, we do not have to hide and delay this decision for a long time. Because we will finish the year 2014 again with a plus. The AOK PLUS is financially exemplary and well prepared for the next years. That's why we deliberately set this signal first. Our insured will be significantly relieved financially from 2015 onwards.“ Thus, the AOK Plus is the first health insurance in Germany, which has set their contribution rate for 2015.

For a family with average income, this means a relief of about 200 euros a year. In addition, the cashier wants to make more money available to its insured from next year. Accordingly, the budget includes 5.6 percent more budget than last year and thus 9.05 billion euros for services such as the AOK Plus announced in a press release. These „offensive power“ was recently also acknowledged by the German Institute for Service Quality. Accordingly, the AOK has the best service and the best services. Rainer Striebel, CEO of AOK PLUS: „We are consistently continuing on this path. It optimally complements the financial relief and the additional expenditure for health with additional benefits and service. We will continue to offer our additional services beyond the norm.“ In addition, Striebel continues, the service should be further expanded.

„We stay local. Of our more than 140 branches, no one is closed. But we are just as good to reach by phone and online. This makes us very different from other competitors. Service is and remains our trademark.“ As an economic goal, the AOK PLUS, in addition to customer satisfaction, called 50 percent market share. (Jp)
