13-fold mother and 7-fold grandma is pregnant
Berlin-based teacher Annegret Raunigk already has 13 children from five men and is now causing a stir with another pregnancy. The expectant mother is not only already 7 times grandma and 65 years old, but also expects quadruplets. Between her first child and her last one, there are 35 years of age difference. According to a report of the „Picture on Sunday“ (Bams) will Mrs. Raunigk for the broadcast „RTL Extra“ accompanied by her pregnancy. „Surely that was a shock for me“, The expectant mother is quoted by the Bams from the first broadcast of RTL on Monday evening at 10:15 pm. „After the doctor has determined that there are four, I first had to think about it.“

Physicians critical
„This is a huge burden for the body“, says Ulrich Hilland, chairman of the Federal Association of Reproductive Medicine Centers in Germany (BRZ) to T-Online. „A quadruplet pregnancy would be an enormous challenge for a young woman. This is where the mother's aging processes come into their own. This is associated with a considerably higher risk. As complications threaten pregnancy poisoning, diabetes or thrombosis. These risks apply to every pregnancy“, the doctor continues.

65-year-old would be the oldest quadruplet mother in the world
In a press release, the TV station announced that over the past year and a half, the elementary school teacher had been fertilized several times abroad by egg and sperm donation. The last treatment using four fertilized eggs suggested the Russian and English teacher. The doctor gave her the decision and she decided to get all four. According to the Bams, she is in the 21st week. It is said that the pregnancy proceeds without any problems and that if everything goes well, Annegret Raunigk will give birth to her children 14, 15, 16 and 17 this summer, making her the oldest quadruple mother in the world.

Problems with multiple pregnancies
Your gynecologist, Dr. med. Kai Hertwig explained: „So far, the pregnancy makes no difference between the body of a younger or older. Four-sided pregnancies are always a heavy burden. Of course, we also look internally that the cardiovascular system, including the older cardiovascular system, does it all. We all have little or no experience with such a pregnant woman at that age, but at the moment this is going very well.“ According to health experts, multiple pregnancies can cause a variety of problems for younger people. In addition to a premature delivery of prematurity, this also includes increased water retention, especially in the legs, as well as high blood pressure caused by pregnancy, varicose veins, anemia and impaired maternal abdominal organs.

„Cardiovascular system is no longer the youngest“
Dr. Kai Hertwig explained: „The biggest risk for the children is actually in premature birth. We try to do everything we can to prevent them as much as possible and push them as far as possible into the higher weeks of pregnancy ... It's just that the cardiovascular system is no longer the youngest and it depends on how efficient this cardiovascular system is. The rate of thrombosis is much higher in pregnancies and the vessels may not be that young, so the risk is higher.“ The number of multiple births has increased significantly in the past 20 years nationwide. An extraordinary case was reported last year from Bavaria. There were born in a Vierlinggeburt in Munich, two identical twins. (Ad)
