The Berlin University Hospital Charité is Germany's best hospital. This is the result of the news magazine „Focus“ in his hospital ranking. German hospitals also have a good reputation abroad.
Berlin in front of Munich and Dresden
In the new hospital ranking of the news magazine „Focus“ is the Berlin University Hospital Charité the winner. The university clinics of Munich (LMU) and Dresden occupy the second and third place in the largest and most comprehensive comparison of German clinics, according to a news agency dts. Followed by clinics in Freiburg, Heidelberg and Tübingen.
Charité winner among around 1000 clinics
As a result, the news magazine, in collaboration with the independent research institute MINQ, evaluated data from more than 1,000 hospitals. The result of the comparison is a list of 100 top clinics. As stated, the following criteria were decisive for the placements: sustained treatment success in operations, complication rates, technical equipment, number of physicians in charge, nurse qualification, patient satisfaction and the hygiene standard of the houses.
Medical tourism in Germany is booming
Even abroad, German clinics obviously have a good reputation. More and more patients from other countries come to Germany to be treated here in hospitals. Almost 1.1 billion euros of medical tourism in the German health care system, like the „Doctors newspaper“ Earlier this year reported. Accordingly, the proportion of foreign patients in German hospitals is 0.5 percent.
