While the newspaper with the four large letters reported that the Federal Minister of Health Philipp Rösler (FDP) wants to abolish the eligibility statutory health insurance in favor of private health insurance, denied a spokesman for the Ministry immediately. „An elimination of the elective rates at the statutory health insurance is not planned“. On the contrary, they wanted to force even further expansion of the choices.
A few days ago the Bild newspaper reported that the Minister of Health Philipp Rösler wants to abolish the eligibility of the statutory health insurance. Optional fares include, for example, additional alternative practitioner or dentures services that can be completed in addition to regular health insurance coverage. But there can be no question of abolition, as a spokesman for the Ministry of Health denied. On the contrary, in the course of redesigning the law on security of supply, one wishes to further expand the options available to those insured under the law. Thus, it should be possible in the future to be able to choose a more individualized health care within the framework of the legally prescribed services.
The rumors about the abolishment of the GKV election tariffs arose because the Federal Ministry of Health wanted to examine the eligibility tariffs from the aspect of the efficiency and abolish so-called binding periods. In this way, according to the opinion of some health economists, Rösler wanted to abolish the electoral tariffs of the legal. These fears were absolutely unfounded, as the ministry spokesman stressed. (Sb)
