Misleading sales calls on behalf of the professional association
BGW warns against misleading sales calls on behalf of the professional association
For reasons of current relevance, the BGV for Health Care and Welfare (BGW) advises caution when making strange sales calls on behalf of a "Occupational Safety and Health Department". She has recently been reported several such phone calls from member companies.
The person calling had tried, with reference to an alleged letter and reference to alleged occupational safety deficiencies, to sell occupational safety products and to obtain company account data. The BGW points out that it has nothing to do with such calls.
Order media free of charge
Furthermore, the BGW informs that it gives away a lot of media for occupational safety and health, which must be available in the company and are often offered commercially, free of charge to its member companies. These include the following media:
Association book (order number BGW 09-17-000), poster "prevent fires - behavior in case of fire" (order number BGW 22-00-012) and instructions for first aid - either as a poster (order number DGUV information 204-001) or copybook ( Order number DGUV Information 204-006).
The materials can be ordered via the website. There they are easy to find, if the respective order number is entered as search keyword.
Do not buy immediately
Companies that are offered by telephone fee-based occupational safety products, the BGW recommends: Do not buy immediately, but only in peace consider what is really needed. The company doctor and the occupational health specialist help with this. BGW also provides information on the website or through its regional prevention services.
