Homeopathic medicines are becoming more expensive

Homeopathic medicines are becoming more expensive / Health News
The costs of registration by the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM) have increased significantly since March. For the registration of a drug with an active ingredient in the future six times the previous sum is due. So far, homeopathic remedies have their own cost regulation. Now, the Medicinal Products Costs Ordinance (AMGKostV) applies in addition to the authorization for the registration of homeopathic remedies. The new regulation came into force on 7 March.

For a national registration procedure for a homeopathic medicine now at least 6400 euros are due. If Germany is to serve as a reference for an EU-wide registration, the procedure costs 18,200 euros. For the renewal of a registration - so far 510 euros - now 3300 euros are due. The new regulations apply to all homeopathic remedies, the registration of which was requested after the entry into force of the amending regulation. (Pm)
