Homann starts recall because of plastic particles in ready salads
Ready meals generally do not have the reputation of being healthy. Now, however, a large manufacturer of ready meals called back ten of his salads. These salads are sold under different brands and apparently contain plastic particles. For this reason, the salads are now removed from the supermarket shelves. Customers are asked to return purchased salads. Lately there have been cases in other manufacturers, where small plastic particles came into our food.
The food manufacturer Homann Feinkost GmbH has now issued a recall for ten of his salads. These are offered under different brands and in some cases contain plastic particles. The company announced on its website and in a press release that customers can return these products without a receipt. Of course, sufferers get their money back.
Ready salads certainly do not have the best reputation. These products are not a serious alternative to fresh salad. Finished salads often contain many germs. But now a manufacturer of ready salads launched a recall for other reasons. The affected salad contains plastic particles. "For reasons of precautionary consumer protection, the company Homann Feinkost GmbH withdraws some of its products from the market," said the official statement. These should "in some cases contain plastic particles," say the manufacturer. Thus, it is necessary to remove all of these products from the market to protect the health of the buyers. If you bought contaminated salads, you can exchange them without a receipt and either get a new salad or your money back.

Other manufacturers also had to start recalls because of plastic particles
The company stated in its press release on the planned recall: "In the spirit of our uncompromising understanding of quality and precautionary consumer protection, we were led to this measure, as in some cases a plastic particle was found in the listed products." Customers should the affected Homann salads as a precaution do not eat, the company said. This incident is not the first of its kind. Previously, there were recalls because manufacturers had co-processed plastic particles in their products. In February of this year, a well-known food manufacturer of sweets had his chocolate bars recalled in 55 countries for the same reason. (As)
