The company advises against using this product for the preparation of baby food. It can not be ruled out that high levels of nitrite pose a potential health hazard.
Customers can return the goods in the respective market. You will receive the purchase price refunded. According to the company, all batches of this product were completely taken out of the sale.
Nitrite feed should be reduced as much as possible
Nitrite may react with amines in the body to form N-nitroso compounds (e.g., nitrosamines).
"Most of these compounds have been shown in animals to be carcinogenic. Whether this also applies to humans has not yet been clarified, "writes the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR)..
The BfR sees a long-term intake of larger amounts of nitrate or nitrite as problematic.
"The nitrate and Nitritzufuhr in humans should therefore be reduced as much as possible," the experts said. (Ad)
