In a small request to the federal government, the group has asked the left whether the federal government is aware that pregnant Hartz IV recipients are sanctioned. Left-wing leader Klaus Ernst asked how the federal government justifies such sanctions. Nationwide, numerous cases were known, according to which pregnant women were completely canceled the standard benefits, because they refused to compete in a one-euro job measure. Most of those affected had justified their refusal on the grounds that they did not want to endanger their own and the unborn child's health.

The Federal Government does not want to detect any violations of the Jobcenter in this context. On the contrary, according to the Hartz IV legislation, all recipients of Hartz IV benefits are obliged to take up employment opportunities and courses. This also applies to pregnant women, as it says in the present response of the Federal Government.

Unemployment initiatives were shocked by this response. This is how Martin Behrsing from the Unemployed Forum Germany compared „gegen-hartz.de“: „The Federal Government finds it quite normal that pregnant women and their unborn lives are sanctioned. It gives the impression that in Hartz IV offspring is not desired.“

At the beginning of the year, numerous cases became known, according to which pregnant women of the Hartz IV ruleset have been completely cut to zero. Some affected women were even pregnant and should still take action. In the view of the Federal Government apparently a normal process. (Fp)
