Health promotion in the job is missing

Health promotion in the workplace is still a patchwork

Even though occupational health promotion is implemented in many companies in the workplace, according to one expert, it is still a patchwork. Although it is often discussed, strategic planning is still lacking.
Strategic planning for health promotion is missing
According to HR expert Nele Graf, occupational health promotion at the workplace is still a patchwork. The professor for personnel and organization told the news agency dpa: „There is a lot of talk about offers - from sports classes to healthy canteen meals - but what's missing is strategic planning.“ However, in her opinion, the market for occupational health management is on the rise: „Businesses are increasingly forced to tackle the issue, given the aging workforce and increased work demands.“
Improve health at work
Occupational health promotion is about improving the health and well-being of people at work. This should be achieved not only through measures such as improved work organization and work environment, but also by providing health services and promoting personal development. For example, some companies offer stress management programs designed to help counteract symptoms such as anxiety, high blood pressure or headaches. But it is not just the employers who often contribute too little to health promotion. The health insurance companies are also criticized in part for the fact that their spending is too low. (Sb)
