The statutory health insurance companies in Germany want to publish ranking lists from the best doctors in the future. According to media reports, this emerges from a hitherto secret position paper of its umbrella organization.

According to a message from the news agency dts, the statutory health insurances in Germany want to publish ranking lists of the best doctors. This emerges from a hitherto secret position paper of their central association, from which the „image“ cited. The coffers claim that even doctors in the field of quality will produce quality reports in the future. The information would then be checked by the insurance companies and in as much as possible „easy to understand form“ provided to the patient.

Quality reports so far only for hospitals
As it is in the 23-page paper that the „image“ is to make the reporting comprehensible to all addressees and should allow for independent comparisons. Scores or indices should be used to prepare the data in such a way that a summary assessment of quality indicators is possible. Such quality reports are only available for hospitals so far.

Cash register members may also find it helpful to use medical rating portals on the internet. These have increased enormously in recent years.
