The secret to losing weight Cold tea to stimulate fat burning
Cold tea for weight loss more effective than warm
In the past, scientific research has shown that some types of tea can help you lose weight. Now researchers have found that cold tea seems to be better at burning fat than warming.
Losing weight is often difficult
Clear: Who wants to reduce his weight, must move regularly. However, sport alone does not help against overweight. Although it burns calories and eliminates the constant hunger, but more crucial is the diet. Some people try to get rid of extra pounds with the help of various diet programs. But often the belly fat just does not want to disappear. Maybe you should try drinking tea. Because this can stimulate the burning of fat and help with weight loss, as researchers have now found out.
In one study, it has been shown that cold tea seems to stimulate the burning of fat more strongly and thus helps to lose weight better than warm. (Image: amenic181 / fotolia.com)Healthy tea drinking
Drinking tea can be very healthy. For example, a US study found that daily consumption of a cup of black or green tea can reduce the risk of heart attack.
Chinese researchers also found that green tea can protect against obesity.
Now Swiss researchers have found in an investigation that drinking tea can stimulate the burning of fat and so can help with weight loss.
Surprisingly, when the drink is cold, it seems to be more effective for weight loss.
Cold tea for weight loss more effective
The research team of the Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Medicine of the University of Freiburg compared the cardiovascular and metabolic reactions of young adults to the intake of caffeine-containing tea prepared from yerba mate leaves.
This drink is especially popular in South America, according to a statement from the university.
Researchers from the Integrative Cardiovascular and Metabolic Physiology Laboratory concluded that cold tea is likely to be more effective for weight loss.
Three degrees cold or 55 degrees warm
On two different days, the subjects drank 500ml of the unsweetened caffeinated tea. This had either a temperature of 3 ° C or 55 ° C and had to be drunk within five minutes.
After taking the tea, various variables were continuously measured over 90 minutes: blood pressure, heart rate, amount of blood pumped by the heart, and oxygen consumption and fat oxidation.
These data were compared with the values measured half an hour before taking the tea.
Reducing the metabolic burden of the heart
According to the authors of the study, Claire Maufrais, Dolphine Sarafian, and Prof. Abdul Dulloo and Prof. Jean-Pierre Montani, the energy consumption of drinking cold tea (+ 8.3%) increased twice as much as drinking warm tea ( + 3.7%).
The cold tea also promoted fat oxidation and reduced metabolic stress on the heart.
If this observation is confirmed with repeated ingestion of tea, cold tea has been shown to be useful for weight control.
The results of the study supported by the Swiss Heart Foundation were published in the journal "Frontiers in Physiology". (Ad)
