Fascia: perception in public is increasing.

(03.12.2010) In a health program of the First German Television ARD, the connective tissue of our body, the fasciae, was recently reported for the first time. Thus, it seems, according to publications in the magazine "Men´s Health "continues to go uphill for this long-underrated structure, which experts increasingly attach to in our bodies when it comes to ailments such as back pain or neck tension.

In the article, the German Rolfer and Faszienexperte Dr. Robert Schleip to speak. He is researching with colleagues like Rolfer Dr. Adjo Zorn or dr. Werner Klingler at the University of Ulm in the Department of Physiology of Fascia. As part of their work, the Ulm fascia researchers held in April of this year, the first worldwide Fascia Research Course (Heilpraxisnet reported). From the second to the seventh of September 2012, the Fascia Research Project is planning a “Fascia Research Summer School” perform.

Dr. Among other things, Schleip points out in this article that fascia plays an important role in muscular transmission. It is now believed that the muscles are supported in their work on their sheath, the fascia. If there are problems in the structure of the fascia, it may cause difficulties in the function of the muscles. These findings by researchers like Dr. Schleip also seem to confirm the thesis of the American osteopath and emergency doctor. Stephen Typaldos D.O. to be. Typaldos had explained his treatments of so-called trigger bands, which cause drawing burning pain and associated with weakness, according to the Fascial Distortion Model (FDM) with the fascia. The new findings seem to prove him right, because apparently the treatment he finds ensures that the muscle can rest on the fascia and function properly.

Dr. Schleip further explains that fascia is an important sensory organ for body perception that has long been underestimated. Manual concepts and methods such as Rolfing, Osteopathy or the fascial distortion model have long been the focus of their treatment approach and recognize in them not only, as previously in medicine, the separating, but rather the connecting element. Through media reports such as the present, the fascia will probably continue to get in the public eye. Fascia experts like Dr. Schleip is to thank for this and also the fact that the view on it changes in the usual medical operation. (Tf)
