Recommended idleness Freizeitstress is purely a matter of attitude
More and more people can not turn off their free time properly. Some are still taking work home with them, others are filling their after-work hours, the weekend or vacation with appointments. This constant "doing something" leads to stress and thus endangers the health. Concerned should therefore put a little more on idleness.
Leisure stress is mostly homemade
Many working people not only work overtime, but also take work home or pack up their free time with appointments as for hobbies. Even after work, she plagues inner restlessness and stress. In many cases, this leisure stress is homemade and unnecessary. The business consultant and coach Klaus Kampmann told the news agency dpa: "We have no time constraints, this is a matter of attitude." The expert advises people who are constantly under power or feel stressed in their supposedly free time: "Self-reflection feel: what is good for me? What do I really need? "
"Just let your mind wander"
For example, a manager who achieves much under pressure should do it completely differently in his free time. "You should get back to the things that you could as a child, wasting time and just let your mind wander," says Kampmann. However, this sounds easier than it often is. In many cases, it is not so much the insight, but the implementation. "The most important thing about a change is to do it in very small steps," says the consultant. For example, if you were used to cycling through every day of your week-long vacation, you should not completely change that the next time. Rather, the expert advises not to let one or two days go without a tight schedule.
Have breakfast longer on holiday
It is also helpful to attach the changed behavior to rituals. "Just leave the clock for half a day." Another measure could be to have breakfast half an hour longer on the current holiday than the year before. Basically, it is also important to save the holiday recovery in everyday life. For many people, it is already difficult or impossible to switch off on holiday anyway. This resulted in a recent survey of Techniker Krankenkasse (TK). And with many, the recovery is immediately replaced by the stress of everyday life, when you're back at work. The experts pointed out that the body on holiday in peace has to be switched to recovery and back again.
High level of tension manifests itself physically
As Kampmann explained, many people have a very high level of stress in everyday life. This also manifests itself physically: "Hardly there are no obligations, you fidget with your hands or tapping your feet." At least then you have to switch off and question the stress factors. "It can be a matter of courage to let go, too," says Kampmann. Other experts also have some tips and tricks for balancing job and leisure. For example, regular stress-relieving relaxation exercises such as yoga can help to become more relaxed. (Ad)
